Shadow person

Call me crazy but this JUST happened to me. I got up from a chair, started walking to the kitchen and suddenly stopped in my tracks, thinking I was about to run into someone. I even shifted my body so that I wouldn't hit whoever was there.  You might imagine where I am going with this...there was actually no one there.  But what I saw -what I felt - was a tall, black shadow.  As quick as it was there, it was gone and I kept on my business.  I wasn't scared, just startled as when you accidentally bumped into someone in the street because you weren't paying attention.

Normally, I would have brushed this off as simple shadow play and my mind reacting to something I simply thought was there.  However, Ben Hansen talked about this very thing during our late night social hour at the Stanley.  He said it is believed that the sides our eyes are able to see more, a sort of heightened sense.  I see shadows out of the corner of my eyes quite frequently, which again I've just brushed off.  But after Ben's explanation, I suppose that what I'm experiencing could possibly be something real.  And tonight's experience was definitely real!  More than I've experienced before.

Does anyone else see shadows like this?
